I also build customer computers at cost to fill special needs for these same people . Whenever I get the opportunity I also salvage legacy accessories and parts to build computers and give them to individuals (students in particular) that cannot afford one. I do this because I’m retired, have the skills and time, and it helps support my local community. I do charge for some of the work I do simply to discourage people from taking advantage of me when they could afford to pay a legitimate local business to provide the services I give them. That income goes to support this website and purchase the tools I need to continue providing this service to the community and my friends. Most of my work comes from referrals supplied by my current customers, so references are readily available on request.
